Each Monday and Wednesday this spring, E. Cook students are encouraged to Walk With A Doc as Dr. Eric will lead a “walking school bus” to school!
7:15 am: Hickory and Murdock
7:20 am: Murdock and Northpoint
7:25 am: Murdock and Hazel
7:30 am: E. Cook
(*all times approximate)
The first “bus stop” is at 7:15 a.m. at Hickory and Murdock. We will then proceed on the sidewalk down the north side of Hickory to Hazel, crossing Murdock with the assistance of the crossing guard and plan to arrive at E. Cook between 7:30 and 7:35 each morning.
We encourage parents to join their students on the walk.
No need to register, just join us along the route if you can.
During this time of year Mother Nature sure does like to confuse us Wisconsinites and we just never know what type of clothing to wear for outdoors. Here are some guidelines that we follow:
- If the temperature is BELOW 50° - A COAT IS REQUIRED
- If the temperature is BETWEEN 50° - 60° - LONG SLEEVES ARE REQUIRED
- If the temperature is ABOVE 60° - NO COATS ARE REQUIRED
We have decided to try and help students remember these guidelines by posting these signs at the recess doors.
Let’s talk about DROP OFF & PICK UP SAFETY.
We understand the the weather is sometimes not favorable, or sometimes we are running late, but it is even more important at those times that we abide by the traffic plan that we have in place for the safety of the students. It becomes very dangerous for students if this plan is not followed.
NO parent vehicles should be in the circle drive between 7:30am - 8:00am, this area is reserved for school bus traffic ONLY!
Please be very aware of the crosswalk and the Crossing Guard at the corner of Hazel and Bent Avenue. The majority of our students cross at that intersection.
If you have to come in, PLEASE, make every attempt to park off of Hasel to allow the other parents to make quick drop-offs or pick-ups. (Traffic will be monitored closely by law enforcement and tickets could potentially be issued)
If your student is not feeling well and you are unsure if they should come to school, here is the policy that Emmeline Cook and the Oshkosh Area School District follows.
Please remember that you need to call your student in to the school office before 8am at 920-424-0152, and if your student rides the bus you must call Kobussen as well at 920-424-7575.
