October Social Skills Focus:
Students learned to identify what makes them special and unique, recognize the similarities and differences with their classmates and understood that they are apart of a diverse community where their uniqueness is recognized and appreciated! They created their own piece to the 'Inclusion Quilt' by drawing/writing about what makes us special and unique. This will be put up in the hallway. Watch for it!
October PBIS Raffle Winners:
Jayceon Fleming, Kindergarten, was chosen to be our Halloween Parade Line Leader! He took his job very seriously and lead the parade with confidence!n Great job Jayceon!

Social Skills Tip of the Month:
When your child is upset, frustrated or sad have them try to use a coping strategy that they have learned about in school. Here is a list of some strategies they could use or try at home:
- Draw or color
- Listen to music
- Write about it
- Hug or squeeze a stuffed animal or pillow
- Read a book
- Move away from what is making you upset
- Take deep breaths
- Talk to someone
- Exercise (run or walk)
- Take a break and come back to it in 5 minutes
VIP Fancy Lunch - Thanksgiving themed - (4) students from K-2 and (4) students from 3-5 will each get to bring a friend. Students will eat their own lunch, and we will provide a special dessert.
