REMINDER:  Message From Mr. Ruhl

With Halloween just around the corner Mr. Ruhl would like to share the following information with you HERE.

**NEW: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible

Every week we talk to students about our motto: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.  Every week we review ways that we can live this out each day.  We will now begin sharing this with you as well.

Be Safe: Our weather has been all over the place the last couple of weeks. Please help your students be safe by leaving the house in the morning dressed appropriately for the weather that day.  Students have recess EVERYDAY, the only exception is when it is raining or below 10° outside.

Be Respectful: Emmeline Cook Elementary is surrounded by neighboring houses / driveways / yards.  Please remember during drop off and pick up not to block or use someone’s driveway to help get your child closer to the school.  We live in a great community who helps Emmeline Cook often, whether it be by donations or volunteering their time to keep our school looking clean. Let’s be respectful and do the same for them and their property!

Be Respectful:  Every morning and afternoon we have crossing guards out in front of the school to help EVERYONE cross the street safely. Please let them do their job and be respectful even if you don’t agree with the safety protocol they are trying to enforce! Your trust in our staff helps your children trust us as well.

October’s Cougar Time! Information

This month your child is learning about Diversity and Inclusion with Harmony SEL, our social and emotional learning

program. The ideas HERE will reinforce what we are learning in school—there are activities to play,

topics to discuss, and behaviors to role-model. These are all designed to fit into your daily routine and

provide opportunities to further connect with your child. While it may look like a lot of information, we have broken it down by grade levels to make it so you don't have to read the entire document.

REMINDER:  Election Day Bake Sale

Voting is more fun when you can buy sweets too!  Please help us with our Election Day Bake Sale at St. Andrews!

This Bake Sale is organized by the Emmeline Cook PTO and all proceeds will benefit the school.  We need your help to make it a success. Here are the many ways you can help:

 1. Bake or buy yummy treats.  If you would like them sold individually, please package them as such.  We are also happy to sell items like pies, lemon bars, etc. as a complete dish.  We just ask that you package and price each item.  You can drop the goodies off at E. Cook during the day on Nov. 7 or drop them off at St. Andrews anytime on Tuesday, Nov. 8 (though earlier the better!).

2.  Help us set up the sale.  We'll be transporting the goods to St. Andrews and setting up right after school on Monday, November 7.

3.  Staff the Sale. We would like to have volunteers staffing the bake sale for the entire length of the election day - Nov. 8.  We have set volunteer time slots (7:00-9:30 am, 9:30 am - noon, noon-2:30 pm, 2:30-5:00 pm, 5:00-6:30 pm, 6:30-8:00 pm), but if your schedule doesn't fit into one of those slots, we'd love to have your help whenever you're available!  Just let us know when you can be there!

4. Buy some goodies while you vote at St. Andrews on Nov. 8 and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same!

Tell us how you can help by utilizing sign up genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4FA5A72EA1F58-election or ecookpto@gmail.com to let us know how you can help!

Thank you to St. Andrews Oshkosh for allowing us this wonderful opportunity to raise money for their neighborhood school and students!
